7-9pm Thursday 15th May | 7-9pm Thursday 19th June | 7-9pm Thursday 17th July
3 sessions looking at common themes in texts that are sacred to people of the Abrahamic faiths, with the hope of deepening our understanding of one another.
How will these events be inclusive and balanced?
Each evening will be hosted at a different faith centre, all within the same area of Bristol i.e. May – Synagogue, June – Mosque, July – Church. We encourage attending all three evenings if possible.
The events are being co-hosted by a member of each faith, and all sacred texts will be checked by a trusted and learned leader. The themes for these evenings will be Adam & Eve (known as ‘Chava’ in Hebrew or ‘Hawa’ in Arabic), Abraham (‘Avraham’ or ‘Ibrahim’) & Sarah, and Noah (‘Noach’ or ‘Nuh’).
Each text will be looked at in a different order each time, and discussion around each text will be separate, we will not be actively comparing each text.
We hope to have an equal number of representatives from each faith around each table, or at least all three faiths represented around each table.
Any refreshments provided will be kosher and halal.
All participants will need to have read and agreed to the Listening Spaces (Around Sacred Texts) Guidelines.
Please note: further details will follow booking confirmation.
Listening Spaces are events that facilitate face-to-face, intentional listening and dialogue between people of different cultures, races, faiths, social class and political opinions.
